The MidiToHzConvertor application is a small, simple tool designed to convert your MIDI notes to Hz format.
Usage is extremely simple: just enter the amount you wish to convert and the application will instantly display the result in Hertz

MidiToHzConvertor allows you to convert MIDI notes to Hz.

The main windows is the main window. This display the current result and the conversion factor being used. Clicking on the large diamond in the
corner of the main window will display a detail of the conversion. In the detail window the input and output notes are displayed in a grid, each note
with its value in Hz.

The application will display the current conversion factor as well as the conversion factor that was used for the last conversion. The second
window will display the amount of notes being converted and will allow you to convert the notes one by one.

Every time you hit the „convert“ button the application will calculate the conversion factor used for this conversion and update the detail
window. The input and output notes are not updated. You can check the detail window to see the progress of the conversion.

Input note can be any MIDI note.

Input notes can be entered manually, but you can also paste in a MIDI file in a txt file format.

Up to 200000 input notes can be converted simultaneously.

SMP is supported.

Progress bar in the main window will display the current progress of the conversion.

The „Mode“ box will allow you to set the type of conversion you want.

1 = Input note
2 = Notes 1 and all above notes.
3 = Notes 1 to 9, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89, 90 to 99, 100 to 199, 200 to 249, 250 to 299, 300 to 399, 400 to 499, 500 to 599, 600 to 699, 700 to 799, 800 to 899, 900 to 999, 1000 to max input note.

Conversion factor can be changed in the „Factor“ box.

In the „Convert“ box you can select the type of conversion you wish to perform.

„Simple“ will convert the input notes to Hz.

„Notes to Hz“ will convert the input notes to Hz, but will not change their position in the original MIDI file.

-A blank line is added after each step in the conversion process so that you can review your notes before you start adding them in.

-A ‘C:’ character is inserted after the number of notes you wish to convert.
-A ‘+’ character is inserted before each note you want to convert.
-A ‘-‘ character is inserted between the previous note and the current note.
-A ‘*’ character is inserted before each note that is followed by another note with the same value.
-A ‘:’ character is inserted before each note that contains a ‘0’.
-A ‘;’ character is inserted before each note that contains a ‘#’.

-‘C’ stands for cents, this is the name used to describe the frequency of the note. (This is the same as a ‘Mel’)
-‘0’ stands for ‘neutral note’, this means the note does not affect the pitch at all.
-‘#’ stands for ‘sharp note’, this means the note is a ‘B flat’.
-‘*’ means ‘flat note’, this means the note is a ‘B natural’.
-‘;’ stands for ‘natural note’, this means the note is a ‘B flat’.

-‘0’ stands for ‘no step’, this means the note is in the same position as the previous note and no action is required.
-‘+’ stands for ‘step up’, this means the note is the same as the previous note but is 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. higher.
-‘*’ stands for ‘step down’, this means the note is the same as the previous note but is 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. lower.
-‘/’ stands for ‘half step’, this means the note is 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. higher.
-‘\\’ stands for ‘half step’, this means the note is 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. lower.

-If no step is specified the next note will be the same

Known problems:

– Can only convert to/from NoteOn/NoteOff. If you want to convert note data into note values or vice-versa, you’ll have to manually search the midi data for the right values and create a new note in another octave.
