**Creating images in Photoshop**

When you open Photoshop, you get a new document and a workspace. To create and edit the image, you place it in the workspace and open any applicable layers. For more on layers and working with them, see Chapter 10.

You can also start with a photo that you want to work with:

* **Photo:** You can drag a photo file from your computer’s hard drive or from the results of a web search into a workspace or an open document window. You can crop, rotate, and edit your image within the workspace.
* **Photo Library:** If you have a lot of files in your folder or a large selection of files in your computer’s hard drive, you can browse your library to select a photo from it. You can open a photo in the Photo window to work on it.

The editing tools available within the menu are numerous and can be used in different ways. Understanding the interface’s strengths and weaknesses is key to mastering Photoshop’s editing abilities.

Photoshop offers different ways to work with the interface and its tools, depending on the photo you’re editing.

in case of double matrices, where $\delta(1,2,3,4)\delta(A,B,C,D)=\delta(A,B)\delta(C,D)+\delta(C,D)\delta(A,B).$ The result for arbitrary $\delta(r_1,r_2,r_3,r_4)$ will be obtained from the symmetry of this formula.
